Norwegian evangelist Åge Samuelsen (1915-1987) founded Maran Ata, a Pentecostal denomination influenced by American healing evangelists, in 1958/1959. He was editor of the denomination's magazine, Maran Ata, from 1960 to 1965. Samuelsen left to establish another denomination, Vekkeropet Maran Ata, in 1966. Egil Mentzen and Gunnar Johansen became editors of Maran Ata in 1966. The title changed to Maran Ata Bladet in 1968. The title varied: Maran Ata (Apr 1960- Nov 1968); Maran Ata Bladet (Dec 1968- ).
